The ground rules

Castle Rules

A drive-in evening with a precise rhythm. Read once, sleep easy — then enjoy the magic.

Three non-negotiables

  1. Respect the volunteers and organisers. Aggression or rudeness gets you asked to leave.
  2. No alcohol. Not a drop, not anywhere on the grounds. We’re guests of Groot Constantia and the farm’s licence depends on it.
  3. Tickets are not transferable. No swaps, no changes, no ‘just this once’.

Arrival & check-in

The party is held at Groot Constantia Wine Farm. Cars are directed straight to the check-in lane.

Timing

Check-in starts at 6pm sharp. Please do not arrive before 5:30pm — the farm needs the buffer to get the day’s wine traffic clear.

The check-in process

At the check-in hut we will:

  • Verify the ticket against your family’s booking.
  • Collect each child’s ‘special item’ for the reveal later.
  • Collect any toys, canned food or old clothes you’ve brought to donate.
  • Show you to your allocated parking bay.

Remain in your car

Once parked, please stay with your car until the tractor rides begin. No wandering on the farm — this is wine country, not a play park.

To the castle

When the tractors roll, families move to the loading bays for the ride up to the castle, the Father Christmas moment, and the special item reveal.

  • Cash for Mr Plod’s hat

Please leave at home
